Dr. Guoen Wang graduated from the Shashi School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1987 and Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine  in 1993 in the People’s Republic of China.

Dr. Wang specializes in treating:

lower back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, migraine, allergies, anxiety, insomnia, plantar faciitis, infertility, PCOS, endometriosis, arthritis...

“My father encouraged me to study acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine,” Dr. Wang recalls.

One time, his father suffered severe headaches. He went to a regular doctor who offered surgery which scared him. Then he went to a Chinese medicine doctor who was in his 70's.

After a regimen of prescribed herbs for about 7 to 8 days he finally got well.

Before coming to Texas in 1995, Dr. Wang taught at the Hubei College of Chinese Medicine for over a year.

He applied for a visa at the invitation of Stuart Watts, who voiced interest in hiring him as an instructor at the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin- AOMA. (Dr. Wang taught at AOMA for 7 years, as instructor and herbal dean. 1995-2001)

Leaving China for the United States was not an easy decision for Dr. Wang and his wife. “But I was looking for more opportunities for personal growth,” he says.

Dr. Wang’s goal is to free his patients from symptoms and help them stay well. In his words: “Be symptom free and even medication free”

“I like to see people happy and living without pain. When I help someone with a problem, I feel happy.”

One of his most exciting moments occurred during a house call in 1996 to treat a patient in great pain. The patient, who was suffering from an old injury, could not get out of bed or walk for a week.

Dr. Wang carefully studied the case, determined the source of the man’s pain, and then inserted acupuncture needles. Thirty minutes later, after the needles were removed, the man got out of bed, with joyful tears in his eyes. “That was a most unusual case,”

Dr. Wang admits. “I’ll never forget it!”

Dr. Wang enjoys activities with his family, such as ping pong and basketball. In the evenings, Dr. Wang often studies English books to improve his communication skills or reads through Chinese medicine publications to update his medical skills. He often travels back to China for more advanced study of Chinese medicine.

Over the years, Dr. Wang has built a thriving acupuncture practice in Austin, Texas. As a master herbalist, he creates proprietary blends of herbal supplements, tonics, and teas.

Many of his treatments combine acupuncture with herbal remedies.

Although Dr. Wang has witnessed “miracles” from acupuncture, he refuses to promise impossible cures.

Rather, he points out simply that this Oriental medical technique, practiced in China for over 4,000 years, has a remarkable record of relieving pain, reducing symptoms, restoring and improving overall general health.

Dr. Hannah HM Zhang’s healing roots trace back three generations.

Her grandfather, a beloved community acupuncturist, often treated patients free of charge.

"From my earliest childhood memories, every Lunar New Year's morning as soon as Grandpa opened our front gate at dawn, there would already be an endless line of people streaming in—generations of patients he'd cured over the years, coming back to shower him with blessings and gratitude."

Her father specialized in pain management, operating a TCM clinic and a rheumatology research institute dedicated to herbal therapies.

"What struck me most growing up was watching his patients transform. During summer breaks, I’d witness rheumatoid arthritis sufferers with swollen, misshapen joints starting his herbal formulas. By winter vacation, those same patients would return — hands moving freely, smiles replacing winces — living proof of his remedies’ power to rebuild what seemed irreparable."

Her Western-trained uncle operated a colorectal day surgery clinic where patients famously rode bicycles home immediately after hemorrhoid procedures, thanks to his pain-relieving herbal compresses.

Her aunt, among China’s foremost pediatric TCM experts, specialized in gentle herbal treatments for children’s ailments.

Immersed in this family legacy of healing, Dr. Hannah Zhang has dedicated herself to TCM since graduating high school in 1994. She honed her skills under renowned mentors Professor Tang Qiang and Professor Tu Ya, earning her Chinese Medical License in Beijing (2004) and a Ph.D. in Acupuncture (2006). Recognized as China’s Highest-Ranked TCM Practitioner-Chief Physician (2016), she serves on the executive committees of both the Chinese Acupuncture Association and the TCM Aesthetic Medicine Association.

Her work bridges clinical practice and academia—she’s published peer-reviewed studies in prominent Chinese and international SCI journals, and authored two health guides: The TCM Lifestyle: Weight Management Secrets and Abundant Milk, Healthy Weight: Postpartum Healing with Chinese Dietary Wisdom.

"After 20+ years, I’m still amazed daily by TCM’s healing power," Dr. Hannah Zhang reflects. "Helping patients reclaim their lives from pain and health struggles—that’s what fuels my passion."
